What is Whisky Highball Day?

This year marks the fourth official Whisky Highball Day (WHD). It’s a celebration that will be held on Friday the 18th July 2025 and will be supported by whisky brands, influencers and whisky drinkers across the globe.

A day for whisky lovers to come together and celebrate the enjoyment and versatility of whisky.

It’s all about the enjoyment of the whisky highball, inclusive and accessible, a drink to enjoy on your own terms.

Whether it’s as simple as a mizuwari (whisky and water) or a classic highball (whisky and soda), appreciate and enjoy the occasion, whatever and wherever that might be.

How do I get involved?

It’s easy, any which way you want! All you need is to do grab a bottle of your favourite whisky, add some ice and create your own favourite highball.

This could be anything – you decide, there is no right or wrong answer. It’s all about enjoying whisky as part of a different serve. You can share your highball serves via the Whisky Highball Day Instagram account @whiskyhighballday using #WHD24, and upload videos of you enjoying them.

Highball Serves (Brand Partners)

If you’re a whisky brand, independent bottler or blender then you can support Whisky Highball Day and gain some exposure for your whisky.

It’s easy to get involved – simply shoot a video of you making and describing your whisky highball mixed with official water partner Sparkling Larkfire and the team at WHD will include it on the official website www.whiskyhighballday.com and in social media content promoting the day.

Your brand logo will also feature on the website as a supporting partner with a hyper-link to your website.

There is no cost associated with featuring your brand as a supporter of Whisky Highball Day, though partners are encouraged to donate via the Just Giving page to the official charity ‘The Stornoway Trust’.

Official Charity Partner

The official charity partner for Whisky Highball Day is the Stornoway Trust on the Isle of Lewis, the oldest community landlord in Scotland. All donations made by the people and businesses supporting Whisky Highball Day will go towards funding community projects on the Island.
